For the first time, books from Egmont’s brands, licensing properties and non-fiction actions will star in the new range.
Egmont Publishing’s well known range of Banana early readers is set to be rebranded as Reading Ladder titles from April this year.
The new launch will boast six new titles, as well as the full Banana backlist of books.
Plus, for the first time, books from Egmont’s brands, licensing properties and non-fiction actions will also star in the new range.
New brand and titles include the likes of It’s A Dog’s Life by Michael Morpurgo, Who Will Marry Prince Harry? By Tony Bradman, Ordinary George by Joanna Nadin, Show and Tell! Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown/Lori Haskins Houran, Thomas & Friends: Fix and Mend and Mr Men: The Big Bump.
Cally Poplak, MD at Egmont Publishing, said: “At Egmont, we are about making all children proud readers. We know that the reading habit starts with familiar characters; that it is nurtured through non-fiction that is full of information to swap in the playground; by stories that make you laugh out loud or keep the light on way past bedtime.
“We look to all sources of content that children love: film, television, games, toys – and, of course, outstanding writers and illustrators.
“Our Reading Ladder series is bursting with books to engage every child and to complement their school reading, featuring well-loved authors, classic characters and favourite non-fiction topics.”
The new programme, which was developed with literacy consultant Nikki Gamble, features three levels, to help parents and teachers compare across reading schemes.
