The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation has named Evolution as its global licensing and brand management agency.
Fitzgerald created and funded the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation to help those in need, where she also worked to provide assistance to the at-risk and disadvantaged members of our communities.
The 100th anniversary of Fitzgerald’s birthday is being celebrated throughout 2017, with various initiatives launching to honour her career and legacy.
“Ella Fitzgerald has touched audiences the world over with her singular voice, transcending all races, religions, and nationalities, and her passion to help families in need,” said Travis J. Rutherford, partner/chief revenue officer at Evolution.
“To work with the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation to develop new licensing, marketing and promotional initiatives that will further the charitable legacy of Ella Fitzgerald, and increase revenues to fund its philanthropic programs, is an incredible honour, and we can’t wait to get started.”
Tentpole initiatives in the works for the foundation include a concert tour, a Broadway musical inspired by her life and a bio-pic feature film or limited series.
Following the appointment, Evolution will also pursue licensed products categories, including jewellery, accessories, alcohol, publishing and more.
