Mad Catz launches range of Tritton headsets licensed by Microsoft.
Video game accessories and publishing firm Mad Catz has released the first branded Xbox 360 headsets.
And the firm expects the Warhead 7.1 headset, out this month, to be a best-seller this Christmas.
The entry-level Trigger, big-speaker Detonator and wireless Primer headsets for Xbox 360 are out now. All are launched under Mad Catz’ Tritton brand, in conjunction with Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
“What we wanted to do was introduce a clear and simple message for Xbox 360 owners,” Mad Catz’ global PR and communications manager Alex Verrey told MCV.
“In essence, ours are the only official Xbox 360 headsets in the world. There are plenty of companies with other Xbox headsets, and even our multiformat Tritton products will work with Xbox but we wanted to do something that was very distinctive for the Xbox 360 gamer, which is why we’re delighted to have both the Xbox and Tritton logos on that range.
“There are five headsets in the range, from the entry-level Trigger right the way up to the Warhead 7.1. We’re delighted to be working with Microsoft on this official range.”
Mad Catz produces other licensed accessories including Street Fighter stick controllers and Gears of War headsets. It is working on official Halo 4 headsets due later this year.
