Fordville adds Purple Ronnie line

Clothing manufacturer to produce underwear and nightwear for Coolabi property.

Coolabi has struck a deal with Fordville to produce a Purple Ronnie collection of underwear and nightwear for men and women.

The initial range from the clothing manufacturer and designer, importer and exporter will include boxer shorts for men, camisoles for women and pyjamas and robes for both sexes.

Fordville has incorporated a number of Purple Ronnie logos and slogans, some specially written poems and the character in a variety of colours (including yellow, red, pink and purple).

The range was previewed at last month's Harrogate Lingerie and Swimwear exhibition.

Fordville has also teamed up with The Prostate Cancer charity to launch a range of men's boxer shorts as part of a cause-related marketing campaign.

"Purple Ronnie is an ideal brand for this apparel category so we were naturally delighted that Coolabi licensed us to produce this range," said Mark Press, MD of Fordville.

Janet Woodward, head of licensing at Coolabi, added: "Thanks to Fordville's fun, stylish and good looking collection, Purple Ronnie will never be short of people keen to take him to bed."
