FremantleMedia North America expands Loteria brand

Deals inked with Mad Engine and Chronicle Books for family board game.

FremantleMedia North America is expanding the licensing drive for popular family board game Loteria, inking two new partnerships.

The deals with Mad Engine and Chronicle Books mean that classic images from the Don Clemente version of the traditional Latin American game - which has been played for more than 200 years - will shortly appear on new apparel and stationery lines.

Mad Engine will be combining Loteria with fashion, introducing a full line of apparel including tanks and tops, hooded pullover and zip fleece and infant onesies. The clothing range will include items for men, women, juniors, girls and boys.

Meanwhile, Chronicle Books will launch a host of stationery products this autumn in North America, the UK and Australia. Items will include journals, notebooks and notecards.

"Throughout the extensive history of Don Clemente's version of the game, the original artwork found on the 54 cards has remained the same," said Dhivyah Ramanath, senior manager for softlines and publishing, licensing and merchandising, FremantleMedia North America.

"Featuring these quintessential depictions on new products from Mad Engine and Chronicle Books will provide a great way to honour and enjoy the recognisable images that have remained consistent for hundreds of years."
