Frozen soundtrack tops album charts

Album is the longest-running number one film soundtrack since 2003.

The soundtrack to Disney's Frozen was the biggest selling album across both compilation and artist charts for the week commencing 3rd February 2014, and is now gold certified.
 
In the US, the soundtrack has held the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 chart for four non-consecutive weeks, and is the longest-running number one film soundtrack since 2003.

The album has sold more than one million units and 3.4 million tracks worldwide and the album has reached the number one spot in more than 30 countries on iTunes.

Frozen has now become the highest grossing Walt Disney feature animation title of all time within the UK and Ireland, generating £36.8 million to date and it has made more than $914 million worldwide.

The film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film, two Critics' Choice Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for Let It Go. Frozen is also up for Oscars for Animated Feature and Original Song.

The new Frozen sing-along engagement opened in over 2,000 US theatres last weekend. The film took in an additional $8.9 million including $2.2 million from the sing-along to bring the US box office total to an incredible $359.6 million; it’s already the highest grossing non-sequel animated film of all time.

A sing-along version of the film is out now in UK cinemas.
