Galleon expands again

Firm ties up with animation company Xilam to licence a number of children's properties.

Galleon Entertainment has signed a deal with Xilam to represent all licensing rights to its children's properties A Kind of Magic, Oggy and Rahan.

2D animated fantasy A Kind of Magic is aimed at six to 12 year olds and is already licensed to major broadcasters including Disney Channel, France 3, Mediaset (Italy), ABC (Australia), VRT (Belgium) and TSR (Switzerland).

Oggy, meanwhile, is a family comedy cartoon which is broadcast in over 120 countries worldwide. A number of licensing deals have already been signed for plush, socks, a video game and footwear.

Finally, Rahan is an animated comedy action adventure series aimed at seven to 13 year olds. It has already been sold to France 3, Canal Plus (France), RAI (Italy), ZDF (Germany) and Selectavision (Spain).

"We are delighted that Xilam has chosen Galleon to represent its internationally acclaimed children's and family properties A Kind of Magic, Oggy and Rahan," said Erick Rouillé, sales and licensing director at Galleon (pictured).

"We look forward to develop the tremendous potential these unique brands hold for the international licensing community."
