Genius Brands grows reach in Asia with new broadcast deals

Thomas Edison's Secret Lab, Stan Lee's Mighty 7 and Warren Buffett's Secret Millionaire's Club will now broadcast across the region.

Genius Brands International is expanding its reach across the Asian markets as it bolsters its portfolio with a swathe of broadcast licensing agreements.

The firm has secured new multi-property deals in Asia for Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 and Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club.

Singapore’s Mediacorp television network has acquired the rights to broadcast the 90 minute animated superhero feature Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 and episodes of the comedy adventure series Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.

Indonesia’s Spacetoon has licensed the rights to episodes of Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaire’s Club, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.

Finally, Hong Kong’s TVB has secured the rights to broadcast Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.

“As Genius Brands continues to build and distribute our catalogue across multiple platforms worldwide, our strategy is to collaborate with media partners that can deliver our content to our core demographic and we are happy to welcome Spacetoon, Mediacorp and TVB to the family as we debut our programming throughout Asia,” said Andrew Berman, GBI’s SVP of global sales.

“The appeal of our content continues to prove itself in virtually every market around the globe, resonating with young viewers and assuring parents feel comfortable about the entertainment choices they are making for their kids.”
