Orchard Books, an imprint of the Hachette Children’s Group, will publish The Powerpuff Girls into a variety of formats, including series fiction, guidebooks and sticker activity.

Publishing will begin in May 2017 with paperback series fiction title, Brain Freeze and two further titles launching in July and September.

Karen Lawler, senior licensing manager, Hachette Children’s Group, said: “The Powerpuff Girls was a phenomenon the first time around in the 1990s – I loved it then and I love it even more now.

“The 2016 relaunch shows that the consumer recognition and appetite for its brand are still strong, and that children today find The Powerpuff Girls publishing. We are thrilled to add The Powerpuff Girls to our successful portfolio of licensed brands for this age group.”

Maria Rosaria Milone, senior director, category management and agent markets, Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA, added: “The reaction to the return of The Powerpuff Girls has been fantastic.

“Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup may be little, but they are generating a huge amount of excitement, and we are delighted to be partnering with the Hachette Children’s Group to develop a strong, comedic publishing line for UK fans.”
