"The reaction has been absolutely fantastic," says firm.

HTI is supplying new licensed Barbie and Tonka products this autumn.

The Barbie & Me toys, licensed by Mattel, include The Doll’icious Barbie & Me Coffee n Smoothie Shop, allowing girls to hear the milk steam and froth, and pour it from the machine as the milk rises in the cups.

The Glamtastic Barbie & Me Colour Change Nail Bar offers girls magic colour changing manicure fun with Barbie, including a handbag, 20 pretend stick- on nails and more.

Products will hit the UK, Eastern Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, the Nordics and the Middle East as well as Western European distribution in Iberia, Italy, GAS, France, Greece, Benelux and Scandinavia.

For boys, Tonka toys will arrive this autumn/winter, licensed by Hasbro.

The range includes Tonka Town vehicles, play-sets and characters and Tonka Classic trucks. HTI has the rights across EMEA.

Mary Wood, marketing director at HTI, told ToyNews: “We really wanted to raise the bar and push the boundaries in licensed role-play toys and vehicle play.

“The strength, longevity and international appeal of the Barbie and Tonka brands further bolsters HTI’s long-term strategy to build its international business using strong, evergreen brands.

“The reaction from UK and international buyers and distributors has been absolutely fantastic. We are looking forward to building on the success with further development planned for 2014.”
