Ignition fires up Jim Henson sci fi lines

Expansions planned for the Labyrinth, Dark Crystal and Farscape properties.

Ignition Licensing is in discussions with a number of new potential partners for the Jim Henson collection of sci fi brands.

Labyrinth, Dark Crystal and Farscape have already proved a hit in the apparel sector, and now Ignition is eyeing up opportunities in fashion accessories, stationery, greetings and giftware.

The initial t-shirt produced and launched in autumn/winter 2011 on Truffleshuffle has apparently 'flown' out of the doors, with celeb fans including Una Healy from The Saturdays.

Discussions are now underway to extend the current product offering to a wider selection of Labyrinth gifts and accessories, as well as developing apparel ranges for Farscape and Dark Crystal for launch in the summer.

"Labyrinth was always high up on our customer request list, but even we were blown away by the reaction when we launched the range," said Claire Wood, buyer at Truffleshuffle. "The designs constantly top our bestseller lists and we're already developing new additions as customers just can't seem to get enough.

"Clearly the iconic film - along with David Bowie in those tights - holds a special place in lots of people's hearts."

New deals include IndieGo, which has signed a pan-European t-shirt deal for all three sci fi brands.
