Industry Treasure Hunt raises over £5,000 for The Light Fund

The Start Licensing team, headed up by MD Ian Downes and supported by Karen Addison, Angeles Blanco, Phil King, Andrew Levy, James Marsh and Jon Gibson, won the event.

The recent Treasure Hunt in aid of The Light Fund has raised over £5,000 for the licensing industry charity.

The event saw 300 licensing industry execs spanning retailers, licensors, licensees and trade suppliers navigate central London, answering cryptic questions and undertaking pre-set tasks along the way.
 
Acamar, Amscan, BLE, Blueprint, Blues Clothing, Bulldog, Carte Blanche, Cooneen, Copyrights, Danilo, DHX, DreamWorks, eOne, Fashion UK, Fremantle, Hasbro, ITV, Jazwares,  Kilogrammedia, Kinnerton, M&S, Mothercare, Nickelodeon, Poetic Brands, Rainbow Productions, Rocket Licensing, Rockpool Licensing, Tesco, Turner and Universal were among those to get involved.
 
The Start Licensing team, headed up by MD Ian Downes and supported by Karen Addison, Angeles Blanco, Phil King, Andrew Levy, James Marsh and Jon Gibson, won the event, while the Carte Blanche team scooped the ‘dead parrot’ prize for last place.

Elsewhere, Brand Licensing Europe was awarded a prize for securing the best tacky London souvenir, a pack of Union Jack thongs.
 
The event, co-hosted by Ashley Holman from Nickelodeon and Hannah Mungo from eOne, was sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe, with the maps sponsored by A-Z (with the Smiffy’s donating licensed A-Z jackets and dresses being part of the prize). Other sponsors included Gosh Designs, Licensing Source Book, Rainbow Productions, Start Licensing and TDP Textiles.

“We had a fantastic turnout for the Treasure Hunt as the licensing industry once again did us proud," said David Scott, MD of Rainbow Productions and The Light Fund treasurer.

"We’re very grateful to Brand Licensing Europe and A-Z for their fabulous support for this event, which is now a fixture in the licensing social calendar. Once again the winners were those who kept their focus on the clues rather than the pubs en route. This takes us all the closer to reaching the £1 million fundraising milestone that we are aiming for this year.”
