ITV Global scoops up Big & Small on DVD

Firm grabs UK DVD rights to Kindle's BBC children's series.

ITV DVD, the UK home entertainment label of ITV Global Entertainment, has bagged the UK DVD rights for Kindle's pre-school show Big and Small.

The 90-minute DVD will feature eight episodes and will roll out on Monday March 30th.

"Big and Small is a fantastic piece of children's television and a very fun script," said Steve Gallant, director of home entertainment and digital at ITV Global Entertainment. "Since the series premiered on Cbeebies, the property has quickly grown into one of the pre-school market's best ratings shows.

"We're confident the DVD release will delight kids and their parents/carers. We have big plans for the series at ITV DVD in the UK and we're looking forward to working with Kindle, 3J's Production and Start Licensing in growing Big and Small into a mega hit."

Richard Bernard, product manager at ITV DVD, added: "Voiced with fantastic energy by Lenny Henry and Imelda Staunton, Big and Small is an excellent pre-school programe, with particular emphasis on fun and laughter.

"This makes for a very strong proposition on DVD and is reflected in the wide distribution ITV DVD has achieved at retail."
