ITV Studio Global Entertainment is preparing for the UK debut of its much-awaited second series of Thunderbirds Are Go.
To celebrate the show’s return to screens this October, ITVS GE will be delivering a comprehensive launch campaign across events, retail promotions and new product launches.
The studio will host a world premiere screening for the new series at BAFTA, London on Saturday, October 1st. The event will include a Q&A session with a selection of the show’s voice cast as well as activities for kids and a chance to meet Virgil Tracy in person.
ITVS GE will also be teasing assets of the second series’ new master villain The Mechanic via social media with images and exclusive trailers.
Iconic retailer Harrods has also come on board to celebrate the new series with a dedicated Thunderbirds Are Go installation in its Toy Kingdom from September 26th to October 23rd.
The event will be centred around a recreation of the Thunderbird 2 runway from Tracy Island and key product ranges will be showcased including toys from Vivid Imaginations and Spin Master.
And the activity doesn’t end there, with Rainbow Productions on board to deliver the first Thunderbirds Are Go costume character, while this October will see the Virgil Tracy costume opening three new Smyths Toys Superstores in Longbridge, Bradford and Crawley.
The Entertainer will also host meet and greets with Virgil Tracy at six key stores across the UK including Kingston upon Thames, Westfield, Bluewater, Merry Hill and Bullring in Birmingham.
Finally, Argos will run an exclusive gift with purchase offer to support the Thunderbirds Are Go toy lines that will be featured in the retailer’s upcoming Christmas gift guide.
