JELC appoints The Art File for I Like Birds greeting cards

January will see a launch at Top Drawer for the new range based on the innovative design brand.

Global licensing group JELC has announced the latest deal for I Like Birds, with The Art File tapped to produce a range of greeting cards, gift wrap and gift bags for both the UK and international markets, beginning in Q1 2018.

The new range will launch in January 2018 at Top Drawer London, the UK’s leading retail trade event for creative lifestyle buyers. It will be available from both major retailers and independents.

The agreement with The Art File builds on earlier I Like Birds deals with Browntrout for calendars, Quadrille for a range of stationery launching in spring 2018, and My Gifts Trade for kitchen textiles, also launching in Q1 2018.

“The Art File has long been a yardstick of how a modern design-led business should operate: alongside the team’s undoubted business acumen and attention to detail they have a personable, encouraging, open and friendly approach," said Stuart Cox, founder of I Like Birds.

"We’re appreciative to everyone at The Art File for having such faith in us and to JELC for yet again finding us such an exciting 'best in class' licensing partner. We’re hugely excited; our designs really couldn’t be going to a better home."

Ged Mace, MD, The Art File, added: “At The Art File we have a strong interest in UK design and the creation of beautiful cards and stationery that have a true quality and uniqueness to them. The I Like Birds collection fits that description perfectly and its contemporary look sits very well with The Art File brand. We’re thrilled to be adding I Like Birds to our portfolio.”
