Novelty gift supplier to work on collection of products for Brainiac and Beano brands.

Paladone Products has been appointed the first licensee to produce a range of Brainiac and Beano novelty gifts and gadgets.

Agency Start Licensing - which is also the representative for DC Thomson and Sky - secured the deal with Paladone and will continue to manage the relationship between the new licensee and two licensors.

The products will be available in leading High Street stores such as Littlewoods, Grattans, Freemans and Debenhams. Prices for the Brainiac line will range from £4.99 to £19.99, with Beano products priced between £3.99 and £30.

Graeme Carr, joint MD at Paladone, said: "As the leader in novelty gifts and gadgets we are the perfect licensee to support these two iconic brands. We have already secured retail presence for the product and are working towards an extremely successful launch and ongoing relationship with these two top licensors."

Start Licensing's Ian Downes added: "Both brands are associated with fun and entertainment and, therefore, lend themselves extremely well to a range of novelty gifts and gadgets. Paladone's core competencies in novelty gift and gadget products made them an ideal partner for our developments in this sector, which is a strong growth category.

"Paladone joins a strong line-up of licensees and we will be working hard together to ensure the success of both of these product ranges."
