The date change has been labeled as a ‘strategic’ move by the event’s organisers UBM.
The Las Vegas Licensing Expo has undergone a date shift, moving to one month earlier next year to May 2017.
The date change has been labeled as a ‘strategic’ move by the event’s organisers UBM and its sponsor, the International Merchandiser’s Association, allowing attendees to ‘better leverage the time of year.’
Now dated for May 23 to 25th 2017, the move brings Licensing Expo into ‘closer proximity’ to London’s Brand Licensing Europe that takes place in October this year.
“Following feedback from the industry and partners, Licensing Expo is moving to May 23 to 25th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre in Las Vegas,” said Jessica Blue, senior vice president of licensing, UBM Americas.
“The new time slot ensures a consistent date for UBM Licensing customers around the world and puts some much-needed distance between Licensing Expo and E3 while providing additional time between our sister shows.”
President of LIMA, Charles Riotto, added: “We are excited for this move and see it as a positive for our industry. Our members have expressed the need for timing that better fits the global business cycle, and we are pleased to be able to offer them a solution that is beneficial to the licensing community.”
