LICENSING EXPO 2017: Funko named first partner for Netflix's Buddy Thunderstruck

The pop-culture specialists will also launch a line of accessories and apparel, each featuring characters from Buddy Thunderstruck, with a launch scheduled for this holiday season.

American Greetings Entertainment, the intellectual property and licensing division of American Greetings, has welcomed Funko as its first licensing partner for Buddy Thunderstruck.

The series premiered as a Netflix Original Series this March and features stop-motion animation from the Emmy Award-winning Stoopid Buddy Stoodios.

The new deal will see the residents of Greasepit created into Funko vinyl, plush and more this autumn.

The pop-culture specialists will also launch a line of accessories and apparel, each featuring characters from Buddy Thunderstruck, with a launch scheduled for this holiday season.

“We are honoured and thrilled to be revealed as the first licensing partner for Buddy Thunderstruck,” said Funko CEO, Brian Mariotti.

“American Greetings has done an amazing job with the show and we know the show’s fans will be as excited as we are when they see Buddy Thunderstruck as his friends created in our own inimitable Funko style.”
