LIMA awards winners announced, Warner Bros.  wins trio

Elsewhere LIMA has announced an expansion with three new global representatives.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products racked up a trio of wins at the 2017 LIMA International Licensing Awards for three of the company’s key brands across Licensing Programs.

In addition, Hot Topic was awarded Retailer of the Year for Suicide Squad, marking the company’s second consecutive win in this category. Overall, winners in 20 categories were announced during LIMA’s annual Awards Ceremony, held during the 2017 Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas. 

Among the other big winners was leading toy firm Mattel.

“This year’s Award winners represent world-class licensing programs and products from around our global industry,” said LIMA president, Charles Riotto. “We are proud to recognise and honour the achievements of these companies – chosen from a record 461 submissions this year – for their impressive initiatives and outstanding results.”

Elsewhere, LIMA confirmed it has added three new global representatives to its roster. The trade association recently appointed representatives in three growth-oriented markets: Brazil, France and Russia, as well as naming a respected industry veteran as the new head of LIMA India.

“We recognise the importance of these markets for the global licensing community and by establishing on-the-ground presence we are able to better serve our membership,” added Riotto.
