Mattel Consumer Products has awarded HTI the licence to produce a collection of sporting goods for Barbie, Hot Wheels and Monster High.

The deal will see HTI offering branded bikes, accessories and protection equipment in the UK and Ireland, with immediate effect.

"We are delighted to announce our bike licence agreement with HTI Group," said Marianna Helmer-Gregersen, licensing manager at Mattel Consumer Products. "Mattel's performance within the bike category has developed healthily over the last few years.

"With brands such as Barbie, Monster High and Hot Wheels now supported by the expertise of HTI Group, we look forward to expanding further within the category throughout 2012."

Andrew Coplestone, licensing director at HTI, added: "We are delighted to be working with Mattel on these prestigious brands with our retail partners. Our team in the Far East are very excited about this great opportunity and looking forward to continuing our successful relationship with Mattel and their licensing team."
