MIPCOM 08: New Geronimo Stilton show debuts

First teaser of Atlantyca's new series screened in Cannes.

The highly anticipated animated children's TV series, Geronimo Stilton - which is based on the multi million selling book range of the same name - has been introduced to buyers and broadcasters for the first time in a promotional trailer at Mipcom.

Atlantyca Entertainment and MoonScoop Productions - co-producers of Geronimo Stilton (in association with Mike Young Productions) - presented the trailer. 26 episodes will be available for the autumn 2009 broadcast season, with Taffy Entertainment and Atlantyca jointly distributing it worldwide.

Atlantyca, the original rights holder of the Geronimo Stilton brand and all its character spin offs, retains all worldwide publishing rights and consumer products rights in Italy. Taffy will oversee consumer products licensing in the rest of the world.

"The first images of the series are fantastic and are certain to generate incredible enthusiasm for the series among programmers and broadcasters throughout the world," said Caterina Vacchi, senior manager and executive producer at Atlantyca.

Nicolas Atlan, CEO of MoonScoop and executive producer of the series, added: "Geronimo Stilton is an incredibly popular children's book across the globe. We have now brought the same great mix of comedy and adventure to the TV series and we look forward to giving broadcasters a glimpse of what they can expect when the completed episodes are available after the end of the year."
