MIPTV 08: Decode unveils 2D show inspired by video games

Firm ties with Singapore's Scrawl Studios for animated series RPG High.

Kids and family entertainment specialist Decode Entertainment has signed its second Canadian-Singaporean collaboration with Scrawl Studios for new animated series RPG High (working title).

Aimed at eight to 12 year olds, RPG High is a new 2D series with 3D sequences. Its visual style has been inspired by video games.

Distribution of the show will be split between the partners, with Scrawl Studios handling the Asian sales and Decode covering the rest of the world.

"RPG High harnesses many distinctive video gaming characters and styles that are universally loved by kids, and places them with comedy at the core of this innovative new show," said Beth Stevenson, Decode's executive VP of production and development.

Decode is also launching Clang Invasion to buyers at MIPTV this week. Decode and Scrawl Studios, along with Hong Kong's Agogo, co-produced the sci-fi comedy.
