Firm to produce animated and live action content for comic book creator's new project.
A Squared Elxsi Entertainment has revealed it is developing stories across multiple platforms and formats based on the new Stan Lee's Mighty 7 comic series.
The series introduces Lee's new group of extra terrestrial super heroes, while it also sees the creator of Spider-Man and the X-Men appear alongside his new creations.
The deal will see the development of transmedia content based on the new characters, which include Strongarm, Laser Lord and High Rise, with powers ranging from super strength to shrinking ability.
In addition to producing animated and live action programming, A2E2 will also lead the global licensing programme for the property. Toys, digital and entertainment products, accessories, apparel, books and additional branded merchandise are all being planned.
"We're very excited at the prospect of launching Stan Lee's new creations from the comic book into the digital domain," said Andy Heyward, founder and co-president of A2E2.
Paul Robinson, president of international for A2E2, added: "We're confident our global programming and licensing activity for Stan Lee and the Mighty 7 will see this new collection of characters enthrall a new generation of fans around the world."
