The celebration brings Star Wars and reading together with storytelling events and activities including author signings, readings and games planned across the globe.
A unique celebration that combines the Force of Star Wars with the power of reading is set to return for its fifth annual outing this October.
Called Star Wars Reads, the celebration is a month long campaign featuring storytelling events and activities including author signings, readings and games planned for participating bookstores, libraries and schools.
Top publishers taking part in this year’s global event include Disney Publishing Worldwide, DK Books, Scholastic, Egmont and more.
“Over the past five years, the Star Wars Reads campaign has organically grown into an annual event that celebrates reading through the new and familiar stories for families and fans of all ages,” said Jeanne Mosure, senior vice president and group publisher, Disney Publishing Worldwide.
“We are thrilled to continue the momentum in 2016and invite parents to encourage reading while introducing kids to Star Wars through printed books, graphic novels and digital stories.”
Printable activity kits and posters are available to schools, libraries and bookshops taking part in the Star Wars Reads celebration across the globe this year.
