Moomin emojis arrive in the form of Moomiji app

"What says happiness more than Moomin dancing in a field of yellow flowers? And who personifies flirtation more than the wide-eyed Mymble’s daughter?"

Moomin Characters has launched an emoji app enabling Android and iOS users to send each other Moomin stickers.

The app, titled Moomiji, offers 24 different Moomin stickers based on original artwork from Moomin creator Tove Jansson.

“Tove’s stories tackle big subjects like love, tolerance, family and adventure, so her original drawings provide all the raw materials needed to express a diverse range of emotions," said Sophia Jansson, niece of Tove Jansson and creative director at Moomin Characters.

"We’re hoping that existing Moomin fans are excited to ‘say it with Moomin’, but also that the emojis will be the perfect introduction to Moomin for the next generation – particularly with a new 52-episode animation just announced.”

The Moomiji app costs 79p and is available to download from the App Store.
