Kate Winslet, Matt Berry, Warwick Davis, Richard Ayoade and more have all been cast to join the upcoming series.
A number of actors have been confirmed to join the cast of upcoming animated series, Moominvalley.
Brought to life by Finnish production firm, Gutsy Animations, the likes of Matt Berry, Will Self and Kate Winslet will take on the role of the iconic Moomin characters.
“We are thrilled with this stellar cast who have been carefully chosen to inhabit Tove Jansson’s much-loved characters,” said Marika Makaroff, creative director and executive producer at Gutsy Animations.
“They will speak to audiences young and old and for the family drama that we are creating, which doesn’t shy away from the depth and complexities of Jansson’s original work, they couldn’t be a more talented or suitable line up.”
Taron Egerton is planned to play the Moomintroll, Rosamund Pike will take on Moominmamma, while Matt Berry is set to play Moominpappa and Kate Winslet as Mrs Fillyjonk.
Muskrat will be represented by author Will Self, Akiya Henry will voice Snorkmaiden, Warwick Davis will play Sniff and Richard Ayoade will take on the form of The Ghost.
Moominvalley will make its debut in spring 2019, which will boast two series of 13 22-minute long episodes.
