Scheduled to land at the popular amusement park in 2017, the rollercoaster is tipped to be second largest construction the popular attraction has to offer.
Sci-Fi fans across the continent will soon be able to experience travelling at warp speed as a new Star Trek rollercoaster readies to launch at Movie Park Germany.
Scheduled to land at the popular amusement park in 2017, the rollercoaster is tipped to be second largest construction in the park and will take inspiration from the popular Star Trek franchise.
The ride will be developed in partnership with CBS Consumer Products and marks just part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations for the hit sci-fi property.
“We are excited and proud that we obtained the Star Trek license from CBS Consumer Products in the USA,” said Movie Park Germany’s general manager, Thorsten Backhaus.
“Through this we are redefining the benchmark for Germany’s largest film and amusement park.”
Titled Star Trek: Operation Enterprise, the new rollercoaster will begin the experience with an accelerated catapulting.
“We have an element in the routing, which is unparalleled in Europe and will definitely surprise our guests,” said Thorsten.
“Guest research, which is regularly carried out in the park, has provided us with clear input that they wish a new major thrill attraction. In 2017 this wish will be fulfilled.”
Movie Park Germany already boasts over 40 attractions on an area of 45 hectares and includes rides and themed zones inspired by some of the biggest movie and TV licenses.
