Nelvana named exclusive merchandise agent for Cartoon Network in Canada

Nelvana will work to bolster the merchandise roll out for leading Cartoon Network properties including Adventure Time, Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls.

Corus Entertainment's Nelvana has been named the exclusive merchandising agent for Cartoon Network across Canada.

Under the extension of a multi-year broadcast and merchandise partnership with the hit kids' channel, Nelvana will be responsible for building the consumer products programme for numerous leading children's brands including The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time and Ben 10.

The firm will now look to develop a wide array of licensed merchandise for Cartoon Network's properties with the aim of expanding the range currently available across Canada and tapping into new opportunities around the re-launch of The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 in 2017.

New categories will include secondary and seasonal toys, softlines, food and beverages, sporting goods and consumer electronics.

Among the newest consumer products programmes launchingin Canada this autumn is an assortment of The Powerpuff Girls toys from master toy licensee Spin Master.
