New Pat show kicks off with special London stunt

New SDS series begins on Cbeebies and BBC2; special video filmed.

The new Postman Pat: Special Delivery Series began this week on Cbeebies and BBC2, with Entertainment Rights filming a special stunt video to kick of proceedings.

The action packed mission saw the character overcoming various obstacles on his way to deliver the first episode of the show to the BBC Television Centre in London in time for its global premiere.

Pat begins by picking up the master tape from HMS Belfast, before sprinting down the gang plank towards a motorbike, with sidekick Jess in the side-car. From there, it's on to a nearby heli-pad where the SDS helicopter is ready to take him along the Thames to White City.

He delivers the tape to Cbeebies controller, Michael Carrington with minutes to spare.

A new product line will accompany the series, much of which will begin to arrive at retail in November and December. The first DVD will launch on November 17th, with A Brand New Mission featuring six SDS episodes, plus a host of extras including an interactive game, a tour of Greendale and Pencaster, plus a number of activities.

A toy collection, created by Character Options, will begin to roll out in December exclusively to Toys R Us stores.
