Nick reveals The Last Airbender programme

With the film due in July, NVCP and Paramount unveil international licensing partners.

Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products has lifted the lid on its licensing programme for the upcoming film, The Last Airbender.

With the Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon film due in July, a raft of international territory deals have been signed, joining master global toy licensee Spin Master, global DVD partner Paramount and global interactive games partner THQ.

Spin Master will be launching action figures, vehicles and role play items featuring The Last Airbender heroes and villains from the M Night Shyamalan film, which is based on Nickelodeon's animated TV series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

In addition, multi-territory and local deals have been secured the apparel sector with TV Mania, Collective Brands, Mlab Concepts and Aykroyds. Publishing categories are covered by Simon & Schuster UK, Egmont UK and Egmont VGS, Random House and Alligator Publishing.

Herding Heimtextil has signed a deal for bedding, while in the stationery categories, Trends International, Alpa UK, Paperline Designs and Union-Transit Company have pledged support, alongside Procos for party paperware.

Finally, poster and badge sets have been snapped up by Pyramid International; accessories have gone to Sandylion; Rubie's has dress-up; Toyster has puzzles; and Vast Sky will produce back packs.

A raft of further deals are also being negotiated to ensure a strong international product programme to support the movie release.
