Nick unveils healthy food line

Kids TV network partners with Kidsnax for range of fruit bars and snack packs.

Nickelodeon is looking to help children to their recommended five fruit and vegetables a day, partnering with healthy food company Kidsnax for a new collection of fruit bars and snack packs.

Characters such as Dora the Explorer, Diego, Avatar, Spongebob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron have been licensed to appear on the packs.

The snack packs offer a variety of choices including slices of banana, raisins and seeds.

"We appreciate the concerns of parents over what their children eat and we are very keen to offer a choice to our customers," said Clare Piggott, VP of consumer products at Nickelodeon UK. "These Kidsnax items are aimed to be included as part of a child's five-a-day regime of fruit and vegetables."

Kidsnax is the sister company of healthy snack bar manufacturer Wholebake.

The new line is aimed at pre-schoolers and children up to the age of 11 and will be appearing in supermarkets and health food stores early in 2008.
