Numberjacks success multiplies

Children's brand to reveal variety of new opportunities to potential licensees at this week's BLE.

ITV Global Entertainment will be launching a number of new opportunities to potential licensees at Brand Licensing Europe for its Numberjacks children's property.

The show, which is aimed at two to six year olds, regularly rates as the number one programme on Cbeebies (BARB) and is now in production on a second series for delivery in 2009.

A new DVD, Counting Down to Christmas, will launch on November 3rd, while an exclusive-to-DVD title - Summer Holiday - has been specially commissioned for release in 2009.

The brand has also been performing well at retail with a wide range of merchandise available in stores such as Marks & Spencer including puzzles, apparel, toys, bedding, confectionery and cakes, a new book range (launched by Egmont in September) and the new Numberjacks magazine (which launched in July and is currently securing readership of 70,000+ per issue).

"We're so excited that the scope of the Numberjacks brand is being fully realised through the outstanding range of products, now available at many key retail stores throughout the UK," said Julie Quirke, head of international licensing at ITV Global Entertainment.

"Children and their carers have really taken the characters to heart and just can't get enough of them. The production of a second series, along with the DVD launch by ITV DVD in November, and further releases through 2009 will continue to raise the profile of the show here in the UK and we are confident that new licensees will be eager to come on board to take advantage of this massive exposure of the brand in the coming months."
