Playground opens its doors in the same year that Penguin Ventures celebrate the 150th anniversary since the birth of Beatrix Potter.
A new Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground has opened its doors to fans and families at Willows Activity Farm in Hertfordshire.
Following a £1 million investment in developing the new playground, the site now incorporates interactive technology within the natural landscape that features the stars of CBeebies’ hit Peter Rabbit series.
Lily Bobtail and Peter Rabbit himself are on hand to meet and greet visitors to the Adventure Playground in St. Albans each day.
Features of the site include a Peter Rabbit Secret Treehouse and the Benjamin Bunny Treetop Adventure as well as the Jeremy Fisher Music Pond and the Mr. Bouncer great Invention.
Chief executive of Willows, Andrew Wolfe, said: “We have always been committed to improving the quality and range of activity at Willows but this is by far the biggest and most exciting – we can now invite our visitors to enjoy a day with one of the most famous children’s characters in history.”
The playground has opened its doors in the same year that sees Penguin Ventures celebrate the 150th anniversary since the birth of Beatrix Potter, the author of the original Peter Rabbit children’s books.
“The Wilow brand fits seamlessly with ours and we have worked to together to create an experience true to the Peter Rabbit values,” added Thomas Merrington, head of product development at Penguin Ventures.
“It really feels as though you are stepping into Peter Rabbit’s enchanting world.”
The playground has been built in partnership with Silvergate Media, the co-producers and global licensing agent of the CGI animated TV series Peter Rabbit and Lappset Creative, a leading manufacturer of themed activity attractions.
