Turner CN Enterprises reveals record numbers in category for boy brands.
Turner CN Enterprises is continuing to ramp up its activity in the publishing sector for its leading boy properties, Ben 10 and Bakugan.
Ben 10 is already achieving record numbers in the category in the UK. The original Ben 10 Magazine was published by Egmont in March 2009, making the switch to Ben 10 Alien Force in August to reflect the evolution of the TV series and the launch of new episodes.
Sales of the title have grown consistently, with the Easter period seeing the highest ever sales of 87,000.
This summer, the publisher will be focusing on producing issues with extra content which can be sold at a premium price. This will include the likes of a villains' tournament pull-out, a 'make your own' car model and a mega water blaster.
In addition, Ben 10 books continue to sell well for Egmont. Top selling titles for 2010 are in the colouring and activity formats, including Bumper Activity Book, Alien Handbook and 3D Activity Book.
The Ben 10 annual is also a top seller, ranking at number five last Christmas, according to Nielsen Bookscan.
Several retail promotions have been running since the beginning of the year to boost sales. Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Waterstones and WH Smith have all produced offerings.
Meanwhile, the Bakugan programme is growing, with titles available in Benelux, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey.
TCNE also has a deal with Megaton in the UK to supply 16 comic strip pages, plus an editorial and advertising space per issue to support brands and licensees.
