Tiger Aspect Productions hires firm as UK licensing agent for property.

Tiger Aspect has appointed RDF Rights as its new UK licensing agent for Mr Bean.

The two-year deal will see RDF securing licensing deals in territories where Tiger does not have international agents.

Mr Bean is approaching its 20th anniversary in 2010 and Tiger Aspect and RDF will be working together to develop strong branding. A range of new products will also be created for the birthday, which will be marked with a new TV special in HD.

The original live action series will also be rebroadcast in its new HD format and special edition DVDs rolled out to multiple territories.

"We are extremely pleased to join forces with RDFR to move the Mr Bean brand into this next phase of its lifecycle," said Katherine Senior, executive producer of Mr Bean at Tiger Aspect. "RDFR's experience in both the adult and children's markets makes the partnership ideal for Mr Bean."

Matthew Frank, MD of RDFR, added: "Mr Bean is such a well loved and well known character around the world. We hope through our experienced licensing team we can add further value to this fantastic brand as it celebrates its 20th birthday."
