Report in The Guardian says chain could benefit from picking up former Woolworths clothing brand.
With Chad Valley having gone to Argos, and Woolworths' administrators Deloitte last week confirming it is still marketing Ladybird to interested parties (click here for story), a report in The Guardian has suggested that Mothercare may benefit from picking up the clothing brand.
Matthew McEachran at Singer Capital Markets said in the report: "There is one other brand that sat within Woolies' portfolio, which has yet to find a home. This is Ladybird. We believe that Mothercare could find this very popular brand attractive as a bolt-on acquisition, particularly given its existing franchise footprint in over 50 countries, which could provide enormous leverage for Ladybird."
