The latest chapter in the sci-fi saga and Disney's first spin-off title for the Star Wars franchise has totalled over £50m in the UK and Ireland.
The Force is strong with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as the latest release in the sci-fi franchise breaks records to become the biggest film of 2016 in the UK.
The latest chapter in the saga, and the first spin-off movie from the original story arch, hit the new milestone across the UK and Ireland just 17 days after its initial release.
With a UK box office total of £50.7 million, the movie overtook the previous record holder, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in the final hours of last year.
The new title has been added to a roster of blockbuster titles from Disney over the past year, joining the likes of The Jungle Book and Finding Dory all in the top five at the UK and Irish Box Office.
With the addition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Captain America: Civil War, Disney has released five of the top ten grossing films, including Zootropolis and Doctor Strange.
