Sesame Street makes video games move

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment inks worldwide deal for top pre-school brand.

Sesame Workshop has signed a multi-year exclusive agreement with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment to create and publish video games based on Sesame Street.

The new partnership is in addition to the Sesame Workshop home entertainment distribution deal with Warner Home Video. A number of DVD titles are due this year.

"Our worldwide partnership with Sesame Workshop marks an exciting step toward the future of pre-school console games, mixing education and fun with the incredible Sesame Street brand," said Martin Tremblay, president of WBIE. "We look forward to building an accessible educational franchise with the Sesame Street games, offering parents and children new ways to learn and play together with their favourite characters from the show."

Gary Knell, president and CEO of Sesame Workshop, added: "We are incredibly pleased with this partnership in creating innovative interactive content to be enjoyed across media platforms."
