The collection will be based on the character's 60 year history as well as its new animated TV series, Miffy's Adventures Big and Small.
Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing has secured the rights to publish a new collection of classic and TV tie-in books based on the hit character, Miffy.
Scheduled to launch in spring 2017, the Miffy TV tie-in title will feature high-definition CGI artwork based on the new TV series Miffy's Adventures Big and Small.
Meanwhile, the classic Miffy titles will include 2D art and stories featuring the popular group of characters, available in hardcover and paperback storybooks, novelty books, chapter books, board books and eBooks.
The new collection will arrive some 60 years after Miffy first bounded onto the scene courtesy of Dutch artist Dick Bruna.
“We’re thrilled to be the home for Miffy, who is such a beloved character, and we’re eager to show her new television personality to the world as well,” said Valerie Garfield, vice president, publisher of novelty and licensed publishing at Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing.
“Her gentle adventures are just right for a preschool audience who appreciates that the back yard is still a very, very big place.”
Miffy recently celebrated its 60th birthday with a range of activities around the world, including the opening of her very own Miffy museum in Utrecht. In addition, the successful global launch of Miffy X apparel at Uniqlo has led to a brand-new line this season.
Earlier this year, Miffy the Movie made its US debut as a featured film at BAM’s Kids Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. The movie along with the entire library of past Miffy TV episodes are available on Netflix, YouTube and Hulu.
