New publishing programme for online game secured.
Simon & Schuster Children's Books has revealed a publishing push for new online game, Fight My Monster.
The firm has snapped up world English language rights for three titles. The first - Fight My Monster Monstrous Official Guide - launched in Octoberm, with a further two titles following in summer 2013.
Fight My Monster is a fast growing digital trading card game. Users collect and trade monster cards through battles with other users and, since its launch earlier this year has notched up a community of almost two million players worldwide.
Over eight million unique monsters have been created to date.
"Fight My Monster is unique, because it's not trying to be another virtual world," said Meg Wang, editorial director, licensed characters at Simon & Schuster. "It taps into what boys at this age really love - stats, strategy and battling. The artwork is striking and the community is safe. Simon & Schuster UK is looking forward to expanding the Fight My Monster universe through these books."
