Smiley World Octopus Ornaments available for Hong Kong population.

The Smiley Company has joined forces with Hong Kong's Octopus travel card scheme, creating a special line of ornaments for the city's population.

The Octopus card is a rechargeable, contactless, stored value smart card used to transfer electronic payments in online or offline systems in Hong Kong. It was launched in September 1997 to collect fares for the transit system, and was the first contactless smart card system in the world.

17 million cards are now in circulation and are being used by 95 per cent of the population in Hong Kong.

The limited edition Smiley World range comes in three different designs and are available in over 5,000 retail outlets in Hong Kong.

In addition, Smiley has also signed an exclusive deal with Bossini stores to launch unisex all ages apparel for Smiley World in June.

The busy firm is also planning to open a Smiley World flagship store in Hong Kong shortly, selling a host of products including fashion, jewellery, stationery and plush.
