With the new movie due for release next May, CPLG reveals a raft of partners.CPLG has been busy signing up partners for the Star Trek brand in the UK, with products including multi-series franchise items to expand the core collectibles lines already available.
As the UK licensing agent for CBS Consumer Products, which owns the Star Trek franchise, CPLG is building a comprehensive UK licensing programme for the brand. The firm says it will reflect the eminence of the franchise and the anticipation for the new feature film, which is due for release in May 2009.
Worldwide partners already on board include Mattel and Playmates, whose products will be distributed by Vivid in the UK.
CPLG says that it has seen unprecedented levels of interest from all categories, with deals signed for toys, apparel, stationery and publishing.
UK-specific licensees include Underground Toys, which will be producing talking keychains, while Brothers Entertainment Merchandise has been signed to produce Enterprise bottle openers and keychains.
Mobile phone accessories are being designed and produced by Lazerbilt, while Zap has just secured a bedding and blankets deal.

The licensees we've brought on board to date have been carefully appointed for their appeal to core existing fans, as well as an entirely new generation of fans."
