Will step into the newly created role of head of licensing/consumer products on February 4th.
Penguin UK, the managing publisher of Peter Rabbit, Ladybird and Puffin, has created a new executive role for head of licensing and consumer products, which has been filled by Susan Bolsover.
Bolsover will enter the position on February 4th, exploiting Penguin's owned and managed intellectual property as the firm continues to enhance its children's entertainment brand.
Her previous experience includes work for Copyright Promotions Licensing Group and BBC Worldwide, which saw her work on high profile brands including Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Skylanders.
Francesca Dow, MD of Penguin Children's, said: "This new role is a significant appointment for Penguin as we think beyond the book. We are delighted that Susan is bringing her considerable expertise to our business at this important time. The creation of a strong Licensing and Consumer Products team is essential to the development of Penguin as a new kind of publisher."
Bolsover, added: "I am delighted to be joining Penguin at this exciting time as it looks to develop its brands beyond books into TV and new areas of consumer products. To have the opportunity to work on iconic properties such as Peter Rabbit and The Snowman is a real privilege, but equally to work on developing what we hope are future classics will also have its own reward."
