The BFG is looking to take big strides across the Spanish market as Planeta Junior is named as licensing agent for the territory.
Entertainment One detailed the appointment ahead of the release of Steven Spielberg’s big screen adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic, slated to hit cinemas in Spain on July 8th this year.
EOne has the pan-European licensing rights to The BFG and will now be working alongside Planeta Junior to deliver a robust consumer products programme in Spain.
The agent will look to increase retail exposure and distribution in Spain for eOne’s line up of UK and EU licensees, including Blues for leisure wear, Winning Moves with Monopoly, Kinnerton for chocolate and confectionery, Fashion UK, Ravensburger with puzzles and Character World for bedding.
Planeta Junior will also be supporting global merchandise deals with Funko, The Company Called If and WETA. Underground Toys will distribute Funko’s vinyl collectable The BFG figure in Europe.
On top of this, Planeta Junior will also be seeking new licensees for the Spanish market in the toy, homeware, gifting, stationery and apparel categories.
