The Pokémon Company bolsters apparel range with new licensees

‘We are delighted to have added Undiz and BCI to our portfolio of best-in-class partners,’ says The Pokémon Company’s Mathieu Galante.

The Pokémon Company International is teaming up with two new licensees to help expand the company’s apparel line.

The new signings include Undiz who is set to develop a line of nightwear and underwear ranges for multiple territories, while Branded Clothing International (BCI) will launch a line of adult nightwear.

Undiz’s range will hit stores in 2016 across all of their territories, including France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Russia.

Sébastien Bismuth, CEO of Undiz, said: “Undiz is thrilled to welcome the yellowest and cutest of video game characters to our store – the one and only Pikachu.

“We just love Pikachu, and we love our special Pokémon range even more.”

Meanwhile, BCI will unveil its collection in Primark during autumn/winter 2016.

Justine Eggleton, design and licensing director of Brand Clothing International, added: “We are delighted to be working with Pokémon; the brand has such a rich heritage and broad appeal to fans of all ages, and has been on our wish list for a while.

“There couldn’t be a better time to be involved with so many exciting activations this year. We’re bringing adults’ nightwear, loungewear, underwear and swimwear to retail for AW16.”

Mathieu Galante, senior market development manager for The Pokémon Company International, commented: “Demand for Pokémon during this its 20th year shows no sign of waning, and the apparel market is particularly buoyant.

“We are delighted to have added Undiz and BCI to our portfolio of best-in-class partners. Pokémon continues to do extremely well with both its core audience of young boys and its secondary audience of young adults and parents.”
