Titan Comics and Bandai Namco to launch Dark Souls series

The action role-playing video game was originally released in Japan in 2011 and has now sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.

Titan Comics is preparing to launch the first Official Dark Souls comic, a title set in the world of the best-selling video game series from Bandai Namco.

The action role-playing video game was originally released in Japan in 2011 and has now sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.

Inspired by the world of the Dark Souls franchise that also includes Dark Souls II: Scholar of the Sin and a third title lined up for April 2016, the forthcoming comic series is penned by the best-selling writer George Mann.

The first issue of the Dark Souls comic book series will hit stores n April 6, 2016 and arrives with five different covers to collect, including a game cover, concept cover, two art covers and a blank sketch version.

“I am dead excited to be working on this new series,” said Mann. “Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that’s just begging to be explored in comics and I am honoured to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it.

“I have been a fan of the games for some time, so it’s a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world.”
