Toy sales bolstered with strong Redakai TV performance

As Zodiak show gains ratings, consumer products are boosted across Europe.

With TV ratings for the new Redakai show steadily climbing across Europe, the consumer products programme is now also stepping up a gear.

Cartoon Network, Redakai's broadcast partner in the US, Latin America and EMEA (excluding France and Spain) has shown gains in the show's ratimgs on all its channels.

It is the network's number one show in Poland, and the number two Saturday morning programme in the US - where Redakai has made double digit gains among boys since its launch.

In Portugal, it is the number two show on Panda Biggs, and on Canada's YTV, viewership has increased by 200 per cent in March among boys aged six to 11 versus the prior month.

In the UK, Redakai debuted on Cartoon Network in February, with viewership increasing by 24 per cent after the first month. The show also broadcasts on CITV. The Redakai TCG launched in toy stores over Easter, with heavy sampling, TV promotion and in-store demonstrations bolstering sales and repeat orders.

In France, the series debuted on Canal J in October 2011, followed by Gulli in February 2012. The TCG launched in April.

Elsewhere, the TCG will hit shelves in Italy, German speaking territories, Benelux and Portugal in September, with Spain and Greece following.

Patricia de Wilde, SVP od Zodiak Kids CP Paris, said: "We are proud to be bring Redakai to LIE with so many important elements in place, from key broadcasters in all major territories and a world class toy partner, to an ongoing product roll out plan supported by extensive TV and in-store promotions."
