Turner readies for Licensing@Russia showcase

Firm reveals key deals ahead of this week's event in Moscow.

Turner CN Enterprises has revealed a slate of licensing deals in Central and Eastern Europe spanning food and confectionary, back-to-school, stationary, apparel and gift categories ahead of Licensing@Russia this week.

The firm will exhibit its full portfolio of brands at the event – including boys properties Ben 10, Bakuagan and Redakai, a new addition to the TCNE portfolio and one which the company anticipates being a big licensing proposition for CEE.

TCNE will also present licensing opportunities for girls properties Zoobles and Puppy in my Pocket, along with the recently acquired pre-school brand LazyTown, coming soon to the region.

Enjoying a strong following on both free TV and pay TV as well as online, Bakugan is continuing on Cartoon Network with a new series, Mechtanium Surge, airing in CEE and Russia. Following the January toy launch of Gundalian Invaders in Russia, Turner CN Enterprises has revealed Mechtanium Surge toys will launch in August/September 2012. Also for Bakugan, TCNE has reported that KARTON P+P s.r.o. has committed to the brand for back-to-school products in the Czech Republic and Slovenia.

Ben 10 is also gaining foothold in the Czech Republic and Slovenia with EP Line SA signing for stationary, Ing. Jiří Soural – The Drinks for a line of carbonated soft drinks and Cartoon Mania s.r.o. for Ben 10 branded apparel.  TCNE has also signed Vivat Trading Ltd. for stationary and paper goods in the Ukraine.

For girls, a market TCNE has recently diversified into as a third party licensing agent, Tekma d.o.o has been signed for Puppy in my Pocket gifts in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzgovinia. Additionally, TCNE has signed B&S Polska to its girls’ collectible brand, Zoobles for back-to-school products in Poland while Egmont International Holding A/S has taken publishing rights to Zoobles in CEE, Russia and CIS.

Maria Rosaria Milone, senior commercial director consumer products, packaged and themed entertainment, at Turner CN Enterprises said: “This is a really exciting time for the licensing industry in Russia and CEE as retailers are beginning to invest in licensing projects and Turner’s brands continue to gain traction in the market.  Licensing@Russia is an important trade show for us as it provides an invaluable platform to reach new and existing licensing and retail partners and engages them in our expanding brand propositions.”

Licensing@Russia takes place at Moscow’s Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre on March 14th to 16th.
