Turner takes wraps off new Boomerang website

Site for kids' channel given an overhaul, adding new games and applications plus widescreen backgrounds.

Turner Broadcasting has unveiled a new-look website for its Boomerang channel.

Aimed at the station's core demographic of children aged four to 11, the site showcases some of Boomerang's key characters including Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Garfield. A number of interactive widescreen backgrounds have been added, along with fresh games and applications.

New games include Top Cat Alley Band, where kids can give characters different musical instruments to adapt the melody, plus Doodle Pad games and painting games.

Downloads include recipes, printable masks and door hangers. There are also video rating and sharing features new to the site.

The initial UK debut will be followed by launches across Europe. It will also launch as a brand new site available in Africa, following the arrival of Cartoon Network in the region last month.

Caroline Casey, digital development director, EMEA, Turner Broadcasting, said: "The new Boomerang site is beautifully designed and has loads of great new features, which add depth and interactivity to the user experience. We're confident that kids and parents will love it and will enjoy the wonderful range of fun new activities."
