US: Penguin grabs Animalia

New collection of books to roll out based on CGI-animated children's TV series.

Australia's Animalia Productions and Porchlight Entertainment have inked an international multi-year licensing deal for Animalia with Penguin, the publisher of the book on which the show is based.

Penguin will develop and publish an array of books based on the property including storybooks, activity and colouring books, plus novelty books. The firm will also publish educational titles that expand on the curriculum material developed for the PBS Kids Go broadcast.

The first line of products are due to hit US stores this autumn, as well as in Australia and New Zealand starting from August.

Animalia is being distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide and in North America by Porchlight Entertainment. Worldwide licensing and merchandising is being handled by Porchlight, excluding Australia, New Zealand and the UK, which is looked after by BBC Worldwide.
